Two mysterious men, Cheongchun (30s) and San-A (40s), emerge in this surreal landscape. They encounter Gaeul, a woman who now lives out Cheongchun’s unfulfilled dream of becoming a screenwriter. Through repetitive time shifts, minimalist front-facing camera angles, and surreal elements like Crest Line and experimental music, the narrative blurs reality and dream.
The film plays with time, spatial repetition, and existential reflection. Visually restrained, it uses symmetry and frontal compositions to express the emotional stagnation of its characters. Sound design leans into abstraction, creating tension between clarity and confusion, reinforcing the protagonist’s state of mind.
“Crest Line,” a visual metaphor throughout the film, marks emotional tipping points where reality folds into imagination. The slow pace allows the audience to absorb each moment, not through plot advancement but by feeling, as memory, time, and identity disintegrate and reform.
